The senior squads are a mixture of recreational, intermediate and senior squads ranging from 19 to 70+ years old and those who wish to compete can do so. Both our mens and womens squad raced in numerous events in the 2018/19 season with highlights including a near club best performance in HoRR. The women’s and men’s squad won numerous events across the north of England including the Victor Ludorum at Northwich.
About Us
Trafford Rowing Club was founded in 1957 and is affiliated to British Rowing, the national governing body for rowing. Based on the Bridgewater Canal in South Manchester, the club is a community club which allows members to enjoy rowing whether it is a gentle paddle through the suburbs of South Manchester or competing at the highest level.
We have around 180 members, roughly half of which are juniors aged 12 - 18.
Unusually outside of the private school system, we have 2 full time professional coaches to support our junior squads and if juniors want to they can compete at the highest level. In the 2018/19 season at national level the squad won a bronze at British Rowing Junior Championships and a silver at the British Rowing Indoor championships. The junior squad won Victor Ludorum (best club) at Northwich and Trentham.
